THE SIP NEW OFFICE LAYOUT
Dear Team,
The SIP new office design is based on several concepts, which we hope will assist in the future development of SIP:
1. Communication should be enhanced and improved at all levels, this is achieved through:
a) Open plan design – limited separation walls.
b) Executive Board members spread throughout the working areas – no ‘management suite’
c) Teams located together
d) Support functions allocated alongside (same floor) as operational functions, as they are as important to the business – therefore a preference to separate client areas t the 9th floor.
e) Please refer to the attached sketch showing the communication concept.
2. Balancing open communication with the need for privacy
a) Human Resource and Finance sections enclosed for privacy, albeit with glazing.
b) Pod’s and meeting rooms scattered throughout the working area for ad-hoc discussions.
3. Consideration of functionality above ‘finish’
a) Concept of desks pushed against filing to allow power and IT distribution along the back of the filing cabinets to the desks, avoiding the need for floor screeds to hide cable distribution.
b) Open ceilings where possible in working areas.
c) Lighting focused on work spaces, adjoining corridors between desks lit by proximity.
d) Client and staff break out area with separate WIFI access on the 9th floor.
This new concept is different from what we have been used to to date, and may therefore require some adaptation by you in getting used to the new office, especially the following:
By it’s nature and design the new office will be a more open and interactive environment. This means that on the 8th floor we have the opportunity to work closely together with our teams and colleagues, therefore all being more involved and close to everything that is going on in our projects and the office. We hope that we will quickly get used to this new style of working and that it will mean we are better informed and communicate better and consistently with each other.
The 9th floor is our training, meeting and break out floor. As well as welcoming clients to the company and providing opportunities for formal and informal meetings, we have facilities for our academy and a break out area and library for clients and staff.
